This work was produced as a result of fieldwork carried out at the Kizu River in Kyoto, Japan. Passing through a corridor where the sound of sand in the water of the Kizu River is faintly audible, and down a flight of stairs, a colourful image rotating in the water appears in what was once the hand-washing area of a primary school.
The moving images, which appear to be an ornithological view of the Earth, are thin sections of rocks collected from the Kizu River and meteorites from the Moon and Mars, seen through polarising microscopes, intersecting the micro and macro worlds.
